General Information

The European Games is a multi-sport event for athletes from all over Europe and is intended to held every four years.

The Games are owned, organised and regulated by the European Olympic Committee, and each of the sports is organised and controlled by the respective European sports Confederation.

The inaugural European Games was held from June 12 to 28, 2015 in Baku Azerbaijan.  Volleyball and Beach Volleyball were 2 of the 30 sport discliplines on the 2015 programme:





24 European teams, (12 Men / 12 Women) competed in the Volleyball competition, while 64 European pairs (32 Men / 32 Women) competed in the Beach Volleyball competition.  In total 464 athletes represented their country and their National Olympic Committee in Baku.

The Beach Volleyball competition ran from the 16th to the 21st June at the custom made ‘Beach Arena’, while the Volleyball competition was held at the iconic Crystal Hall, the venue of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest and the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women’s Final Four.
