General Information

12 European teams will compete for the title of European Games Gold Medal Winners.

POOL COMPOSITION

The Baku European Games Organising Commitee will announce the composition of the two Preliminary Round Pools in early 2015 after the final list of registered teams is confirmed.

PRELIMINARY POOLS

Teams in each Pool will play a single round robin, meaning that each team plays against each other once.

QUARTERFINALS

The top 4 teams from each pool will qualify to the quarterfinals.  The 1st in each pool will play against the 4th placed team from the opposite pool, and there will be a draw conducted to decide if the 2nd placed team in Pool A plays against the 2nd placed team in Pool B, or the 3rd placed team from Pool B.  The team that is not drawn will play against the 3rd placed team from Pool A.

SEMIFINALS

The 4 winners of the quarterfinals will then play off in the semifinals ensuring that should the top two teams from each pool qualify, the 1st placed team from Pool A will face the 2nd placed team from Pool B, and vice versa.

BRONZE MEDAL MATCH

The losers from the two semifinals will compete in the Bronze Medal Match.

GOLD MEDAL MATCH

The winners of the two semifinals will compete in the Gold Medal Match.
