Goodbye Jurmala, see you in the Netherlands for #EuroBeachVolley 2018!
2017 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Final
Jurmala, Latvia, August 21, 2017. The 2017 edition of the #EuroBeachVolley held in Jurmala was a major success – with large crowds turning out on Major beach since the early stages of the competition and the organisers selling out a 3,300-capacity stadium for the women’s and men’s finals on Sunday. Beach Volleyball fans can now start looking forward to the next edition of #EuroBeachVolley, which will take place from July 15 to 22, 2018 across four Dutch cities – The Hague, Rotterdam, Apeldoorn and Utrecht.
The 2018 #EuroBeachVolley will follow in the footsteps of the highly successful 2015 Worlds, which the Netherlands hosted in as many as four cities – and the same format will be in place for the next edition of the European Championship.
Actually, the Netherlands will be hosting an unprecedented Volleyball party next year – since next to the 2018 #EuroBeachVolley, the final round of the men’s U20 European Championship will take place in the Low Countries as well alongside the 2018 Sitting Volleyball World Championships.
On Sunday, as the #EuroBeachVolley ended on Majori beach, a small ceremony officially passed the ‘baton’ on to the Netherlands – with the President of the Dutch Volleyball Federation (Nevobo), Peter Sprenger receiving a specially design flag handed over to the next host of Europe’s premier Beach Volleyball event.
Make sure you save the date and get ready to join the ultimate Beach Volleyball party in July 2018 where Italy’s Paolo Nicolai/Daniele Lupo and Germany’s sensation Julia Grossner/Nadja Glenzke will try to retain the crown they won in Jurmala!
Dutch Beach Volleyball stars Alexander Brouwer/Robert Meeuwsen will be trying to use the home-court advantage to improve on the bronze medal – their first #EuroBeachVolley podium finish – they took from the competition held by the Baltic Sea.
