Flash Intro
Lithuania is hosting for the very first time a CEV Satellite tournament. The event will be held at Credit24Arena, the real ‘home’ of Beach Volleyball in Lithuania and especially in the country’s capital, Vilnius.

This arena has indeed already hosted a number of international competitions, including the 2011 and 2013 editions of the U18 and U20 Beach Volleyball European Championships respectively, as well as many stops of the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour and three tournaments on schedule for the first, third and fourth stages of the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup.

The host country’s hopes for home glory will be carried by Monika Povilaityte and Ieva Dumbauskaite, who have won a number of medals in both European and world age-group championships. The two Lithuanian ‘Queens of the Beach’ are also the bronze medallists from the Baku 2015 European Games.

Lithuania’s women are set to participate in the final stage of the 2014-2016 CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup in Stavanger (Norway), which is scheduled for June 22-25 and whose eventual winners will secure participation in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
