COMPETITION FORMAT
General Information

12 National Federations entered the 2016 CEV Volleyball European League - Women, the 8th edition of this important competition.

  League Round

Will consist of 3 pools of 4 teams.  Each pool will have 2 tournaments, each playing a single round robin.

Pools were composed following the latest CEV European Ranking, with distribution done using the serpentine system.

  Final Round

The aim is to have a Final Four tournament consisting of each of the 1st placed teams and the organiser.

If an organiser cannot be confirmed then Home and Away matches shall be used to determine the winner.
 
Winners are candidates to participate in the 2017 edition of the FIVB World League (Men) or FIVB World Grand Prix (Women).  Replacing the lowest placed European team under the condition that they fulfil all of the requirements/conditions and are accepted by the FIVB.
