SNOWMAN
Presenting Snow Volleyball star Piotr Groszek

Piotr Groszek was born on January 2, 1994 in Rzeszow, Poland. He got into Volleyball when he was 16 years old. At the age of 19 he started playing Beach Volleyball and a couple of years later, about five years ago he discovered Snow Volleyball. He earned his first international Snow Volleyball medal in 2017, bronze at the CEV European Tour stop in Spyndleruv Mlyn. At his next appearance on the Tour, in March 2017 in Disentis, Switzerland, he reached the semifinals. Groszek has not missed a single CEV Snow Volleyball tournament ever since. He took part in the first edition of EuroSnowVolley at Wagrain-Kleinarl & Flachau 2018 finishing ninth. After the sport adopted the three-a-side format in late 2018, Piotr and his Polish teammates reached the semifinals in the European Tour three more times, with the 2019 St. Anton silver as their best result. They also claimed bronze at the second World Tour stop, at Plan de Corones / Kronplatz 2019. Since August 2019, Groszek has also appeared at five FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour events, with two ninth-place finishes as his best results so far.  Piotr Groszek is 191 cm tall and has a spike reach of 340 cm. He is currently at number nine in the CEV Snow Volleyball European Ranking.

Piotr Groszek:
“I am Piotr Groszek and I am on the Snow Volleyball national team of Poland. As kid, I tried all sorts of sports - Football, Swimming, Tennis - until I came into Volleyball, which I had at school at the beginning. With Snow Volleyball it is a funny story. I was browsing the internet looking for some interesting tournaments and from one video to another I found the highlights of the 2013 tournament in Wagrain. A few weeks later I put the Football shoes on and jumped onto the snow field. I have been playing Snow Volleyball for over five years and I am into my sixth season now. My first two seasons with Snow Volleyball were not the best, but in 2017 I achieved my first success, my first medal - bronze in Czechia. Then, I was in the fight for the King of the Snow title until the end of the season. 2018 was equally successful, but 2019 will forever be remembered in my memory - Polish champion, bronze medal at the World Tour stop in Kronplatz and silver at the final event on the European Tour! My goals for the current season include medals at the European Championship and the World Tour events. My biggest Snow Volleyball dream is to take part in the World Championship and the Olympic Games and win a medal there.”
