Kronplatz ready to host the concluding Tour stop
2018 CEV Snoww Volleyball European Tour

Plan de Corones / Kronplatz, Italy, March 16, 2018. The iconic location of the Italian Dolomites is ready to host the 6th and ultimate stop of the 2018 CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour this weekend. The reward for the winners is worth fighting for as along with the Gold medals, they will become the very last additions onto the entry lists for the inaugural European Championship next weekend.

The last spot per gender for the 2018 CEV Snow Volleyball European Championship will be allocated to the team coming out on top of the podium, or if the winner is already qualified through another tour stop or National Championship, or is not eligible due to the country quota limitations, the 2nd placed team will qualify. If the team finishing second is already qualified or is not eligible, the spot will be allocated through the European Tour Ranking as of 12 March 2018.

Although the matches start tomorrow, the first enthusiasts have already experienced Snow Volleyball at an altitude of 2,275 m in front of famous Kronplatz Bell earlier today with 60 kids enjoying their first Snow Volleyball practice in diverse weather conditions. In the morning, fog and light snow accompanied the practice while the last hour offered amazing views and sunshine for all of the young participants who fully enjoyed the experience on the show court.

The main draw for men´s competition features the maximum limit of 24 teams, while there is 11 teams for women. Out of male teams, as many as 10 Italian teams will be competing along with four German, three Polish and three Russian and one team from each of the following nations: Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia and Switzerland.  Italy’s teams have the unique opportunity to get a ticket to #EuroSnowVolley and thus represent their country at this tournament.

11 female teams feature seven nationalities with Austria being represented by three teams, Italy and Germany by two teams and one team from Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary and Sweden.

The very first games will start tomorrow at 9:30 CET on four competition courts where 70 athletes will be proving their abilities on snow at an altitude of 2,275 m.
