Snow Volleyball to finally show its grace in 12 days!
2016 CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour
Luxembourg, March 1, 2016. It is unbelievable how time is flying. In exactly 11 days, the long-awaited show begins. Špindlerův Mlýn is honoured to host the first ever CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour event and the most popular ski resort in the Czech Republic will gladly participate in creating the history of this extraordinary sport. The players are well prepared to perform at the top of their abilities and will be accompanied by lovely cheerleaders and amazing weather whilst being surrounded by palm trees, whirlpools and an electrifying ambiance.
32 men’s and 16 women’s teams are impatiently awaiting the date when they will have a chance to show their skills on the snow. Four Snow Volleyball courts will provide the opportunity to almost a hundred athletes to fight for making the final stage of the tournament to be contested on Sunday. The ‘cream of the crop’ will be entertaining the spectators during the Finals on March 13 on the centre court located at Svatý Petr Valley Station.
Last year’s winner in Špindlerův Mlýn Robert ‘Bobb’ Kufa (CZE) has described the situation concisely: ‘’One of the few, yet significant differences between Snow and Beach Volleyball is the surface. The key is to adapt to it. When I first attended the Snow Volleyball Tour, I bought proper football shoes. Now, whenever I see a chunk of snow or ice, I immediately slide. I drift with my car in a parking lot and drive my scooter during winter (not snow scooter though).”
The 2016 Tour will continue with two more stops in Wagrain-Kleinarl (AUT) and Kronplatz / Plan de Corones (ITA). If you missed the chance to register for the first event, this is the right opportunity for you! Dreamy mountains of Austria and Italy still offer free places, so take your chance and show your determination! This may be the birth-place of talented players working their way to the top thanks to Snow Volleyball…
Last but not least, the spectators cannot be neglected, because what would the tour be without their help? Besides exciting matches, spectators can look forward to numerous accompanying activities over the weekend. Competitions, catchy music, lovely dancers, demonstrations of brands are only some of the highlights on schedule for the three Snow Volleyball weekends!
