Georgia welcomes the CEV Snow Tour for the third time
CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour 2020
Bakuriani, Georgia, February 6, 2020. As the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour in Tsakhkadzor has finished on Wednesday, the participants are arriving to Bakuriani to continue their journey this season. This is the third Snow Volleyball event hosted in Georgia, with teams from eleven countries participating in the competition held in Bakuriani. With the new competition new hopes to become stars of snow volleyball arise.
The CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour in Bakuriani will take place in the “Kid’s Park”, right in the middle of the city centre. Many spectators are expected to follow the snow volleyball action over the next three days, with the programme including matches under floodlights as well. School kids and volunteers, who have been supporting the event last season, are looking forward to meeting the teams once again. The weather forecast is promising throughout the entire tournament. Organisers are expecting a little bit of snowing and the usual warm welcome from the Georgian people.
After an intense Snow Tour opener in Tsakhkadzor, teams from Belgium, France, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia and Switzerland travelled to Bakuriani on Thursday to jump straight back into action. In the men’s competition Slovakian Kocinak, Janto and Kuruc join the the event, while four teams from Georgia will join the women’s competition.
Five out of six medallists from the event held in Armenia will be playing in Bakuriani as well. All of the men's Russian teams who made it to the podium in Tsakhkadzor, including the winners Bobrikov, Bogatov, Mikhalev and Daianov, will be ready to continue their good start to the season. Reigning ‘Queen of the Snow’, Olga Motrich and her teammates Pavlova, Novikova and Iarantceva as well as silver medallists, Lithuanian Frelik, Bekis and Kvedaraite are ready to challenge their opponents once more. Only time will tell whether they can repeat their great results from the previous stop or the remaining teams will stand in their way to the podium.
