Erciyes, Turkey, February 17, 2017. The 2017 edition of the CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour will start this weekend in Turkey with the first of seven stops taking place at Erciyes. This is actually the first ever Snow Volleyball tournament taking place in Turkey and as a result, the anticipation and the excitement are mounting not only in Erciyes but also in the whole Kayseri area.
The event officially got started on Friday with a media meeting held at Kayseri Kadir Has Sports Hall. Turkish Volleyball Federation Vice President Mr Alper Sedat Aslandas addressed the media in attendance: “We are happy that Turkey is hosting two stops of the Snow Volleyball European Tour this year. Snow Volleyball is becoming an extremely trendy game. Our country has the right weather, geographical and climate conditions for Snow Volleyball to grow and develop. We know that six countries are hosting stops of the 2017 European Tour. Turkey will play host to the first in Erciyes and another event will be taking place in Uludag in early March. We would like to thank the Mayor of Kayseri, Mr Mustafa Celik, for his invaluable support. We invite all sports fans to come and visit the tournament.”
Mr Celik commented: “Kayseri is slowly but surely becoming a sports city. We are going to host the first stop of the European Tour, which is actually the first ever Snow Volleyball tournament held in Turkey. As a result, we are extremely excited about this opportunity. I wish the best of luck and success to all participating teams.”

CEV Delegate Kristina Gehlin-Hellgren concluded: “I would like to thank the Mayor of Kayseri, Erciyes A.S. and the Turkish Volleyball Federation for their efforts. This stop of the 2017 CEV Snow Volleyball European Tour means a lot to the European Volleyball family. It is the first stop of this year’s tour and the first event of this kind to take place in Turkey. I am sure that the tournament will be an exciting one for everyone involved. The composition of the Main Draw will be announced after completion of the Technical Meeting. TRT Spor will televise nationwide the final matches, which are scheduled for Sunday, February 19.
