Luxembourg, April 9, 2021. With the EuroVolley 2021 Men and
EuroVolley 2021 Women getting nearer by the minute and excitement growing
throughout the continent and beyond, time has come for a very special
announcement: the EuroVolley 2021 Ambassador Programme starts today!
Thus, two fantastic players from
each of the four host countries per gender have been carefully selected as
EuroVolley Ambassadors. In the coming months leading up to the start of the
events, the eight Ambassadors will be actively engaging with fans across all
CEV platforms and beyond, taking everyone along on the EuroVolley 2021 journey
via exclusive content especially designed to give fans a sneak peek into their
own experiences.
Over the next week we will gradually
announce the Ambassadors from each host country, and to launch the Programme we
start with Finland’s two Ambassadors, Lauri Kerminen and Eemi Tervaportti.
Lauri Kerminen: "It’s a big
honour to be a EuroVolley Ambassador and I'm really excited about this
all."
Lauri is a recent CEV Volleyball Cup
Winner with Dinamo Moscow and has been first libero of the national team since
2013 when he first time joined the roster. He has represented Finland so far in
four EuroVolley competitions and two World Championships. Kerminen has been
lately the best known volleyball player in his home country.

Eemi Tervaportti: "It's a
great honour to represent our great sport also this way and also for our
country a privilege to host EuroVolley. This gives even more motivation to
prepare for upcoming practices and matches. Of course, it is a huge thing that
we are also back in our real home venue, Tampere Ice hall."
Eemi debuted with the national team in
2010 against Sweden in Tampere, same venue where EuroVolley2021 is played. He
has played so far already in five EuroVolleys and two World Championships. He
has played 243 national team games, which is 9th most in countries history and
3rd most as setter after Kari Kalin (312) and Mikko Esko (296).
As part of the launch of the
Ambassadors Programme, Eemi will be joining CEV’s European Volleyball show on
YouTube today, 9th April – 5 pm CEST.
