School pupils from Zar, Armenia get to know the ABC of the Volleyball game
News from the National Federations
Yerevan, Armenia, March 26, 2021. The Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) continues to work extensively to promote the game across the Caucasus country and on Thursday delivered a third Volleyball festival in as many days and at just as many schools.
This time, their ‘roadshow’ stopped at the secondary school named after Zhora Sargsyan, a freedom fighter of the Zar community in Kotayk Province, with 16 students aged 11-12 (12 boys and four girls) participating in the activities held at the local gym.
As they have been doing with many other kids across the country, the VFA representatives explained the most important rules of the game to the pupils before introducing them to basic technical skills.
Mr Andranik Tadevodyan, the head of volleyball in Kotayk Province, and Arpine Badalyan, a member of the Van women’s team, who recently contested the national cup of Armenia, were among those to attend the festival.
The school has now received sports equipment offered by CEV and VFA to make sure that Volleyball classes can continue to take place in a continuous effort to grow the next generation of Armenian Volleyball players.
