More Armenian kids inspired to play Volleyball through CEV School Project
News from the National Federations
Yerevan, Armenia, March 25, 2021. On Thursday, the primary school of the Gegharkunik community in Gegharkunik Province, Armenia, played host to a Volleyball Festival joined by 28 young students (20 boys and 8 girls) as the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) tirelessly continues to promote the sport across the Caucasus country.
The gym of the school needs some renovation, but it still has all of the facilities required to play Volleyball and organise such training sessions as today’s one. Moreover, the local physical education teacher, Mr Hrayr Movsisyan, is one of the real Volleyball experts from across the region.
Before the start of the actual festival, the VFA representatives presented the programme of the event to the school students, and afterwards they introduced the rules of the game and shared some basic skills as well. The Kids Festival was an opportunity to run a workshop with physical education teachers too, to provide them with some useful background info and discuss the best ways to introduce the Volleyball game to their students. The school principal and the city’s sports officials attended the event as well, as a further testament to the importance of such actions.
At the end of the event, the school received sports equipment provided by the VFA and CEV in order to be able to run a Volleyball programme on its own.
