Giuliani expects 16 players at training camp ahead of exciting 2021 season
News from the National Federations
Ljubljana, Slovenia, March 24, 2021. The head coach of Team Slovenia, Alberto Giuliani, has released a list of 16 players who will be contesting the elite FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Rimini, Italy, in May-June and defend the silver medal they won in 2019 at the CEV EuroVolley in September. The preparations for the national team season will start on May 2 in Ljubljana.
The national team will be preparing in Ljubljana for almost four weeks and then test its readiness via three friendly matches at Stožice Arena, the venue of the unforgettable CEV EuroVolley 2019. The Slovenians will travel to Rimini on May 24 and make their historic debut in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League four days later. They are yet to know the name of their opponent on that day.
After a month of rest, Giuliani will gather his players again on July 25 in Kranjska Gora to prepare for the CEV EuroVolley 2021 due to take place in Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland. The event will be running in September and Team Slovenia will be trying to reach another top-level result – to go with the silver medals they won in 2015 and 2019.
After leading Slovenia to EuroVolley silver in 2019, Alberto Giuliani will be hoping to achieve further success in 2021
