News from the National Federations
Yerevan, Armenia, March 24, 2021. The activities run by the Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) in conjunction with the CEV School Project have resumed with a Kids Festival organised at the premises of the school no. 2 in the city of Gavar, Gegharkunik Province, attended by 29 pupils (24 boys, 5 girls) as well as by the physical education teachers of the school.
The newly built gym of the school provides all infrastructure and ideal conditions to run volleyball activities. Moreover, many regard local PE teacher Styopa Sargsyan as one of the best volleyball coaches in the region.
Before the start of the festival, VFA Secretary General Karen Asmaryan handed the “Armenian Volleyball 95 years old’ special commemorative medal to Mr Sargsyan.
The students participating in the festival were obviously happy to learn the ABC of the Volleyball game and had a good time with their first Volleyball experience. The director of the local sports school as well as the city’s sports officials attended the event as well.
As it has become some sort of a habit, at the end of the festival, the school received Volleyball equipment offered by the VFA and CEV, thus making sure the students will continue to enjoy playing the game and that Volleyball features in the programme of their physical education classes.
