Head to Head
Outside of the last final, these
two have only met each other twice when each team got the win on home court in
the 2017/18 fourth round. For Novara, their meetings with Conegliano have been
the only time they had to face Italian opposition in the competition, while
Conegliano has had 11 meetings against Italian opposition managing to win 7 of
them.
Novara hoping to retain the crown
With the CEV Champions League
Volley coming to a halt last season before the final stages of the competition,
Igor Gorgonzola Novara are till the reigning champions. They head into this
semi-final on a 12-match winning run, their longest in the competition, since a
1-3 defeat against Allianz MTV STUTTGART in the 2019/20 fourth round.
· Malwina Smarzek-Godek (109) and Caterina Chiara
Bosetti (104) have both crossed the 100-point mark this Champions League
season.
· Britt Herbots (26) won the most points for Igor
Gorgonzola NOVARA in this season's quarter-finals. Herbots (96) is close to
become the third player to reach 100 points for the team this season.
· Micha Danielle Hancock (17) has collected
second-most aces in this Champions League campaign. Only Magdalena Stysiak (21
for Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI) has collected as many.
Conegliano looking for their
first title
With an extremely good team at
their disposal and with Paola Egonu looking sharper by the minute, Conegliano
is hoping that this season will be the one when they manage to go all the way
in Europe’s premiere club competition. Same as Novara, they boast quite an
impressive winning streak going into this semifinal with 15, with 12 of these
coming in straight sets.
·
Paola Ogechi Egonu (141) is A. Carraro Imoco
CONEGLIANO's top scorer this Champions League season. Last season, she also won
the most points for her team (110).
· Egonu won 54 most points in this season's
quarter-finals, at least eight more than any other player (46 by Melissa Teresa
Vargas Abreu of Fenerbahce Opet ISTANBUL).
· Egonu has collected 14 aces this Champions
League campaign, at least nine more than any of her teammates. Her 13 points
from stuff blocks are a joint-team high alongside Robin de Kruijf.
