Luxembourg, March 4, 2021. After last week’s win on home
court, the Italians from Unet E-work BUSTO ARSIZIO will be going into today’s
match in Turkey, against Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL confident that they can book
a place among Europe’s elite 4. However, if Serbian superstar Tijana Bošković
and her teammates are to bring their best on the court we are looking at an
enthralling battle ahead in our Match of the Week in the CEV Champions League
Volley.
All matches from the Europe’s
premiere club competition are streamed live on CEV’s EuroVolley.TV, where fan

Head to Head
Last week’s meeting between these
two teams was only the second time that they have faced each other in the
competition. Before last week, their only meeting was in the intense Final of
the 2014/15 season when Eczacibasi won their first and only trophy to date.
Their record against teams from
the same country as their opponents today would suggest that the team from
Istanbul can be hopeful in turning the result around, having won 7/10
previously while Arsizio’s negative record of 2 W/ 5 Losses wouldn’t make them
feel assured going into this match away from home.
All eyes on Tijana Bošković
Eczacibasi’s Serbian Opposite has
been having yet another great season, leading her team’s top scoring chart with
166 points and only behind Scandicci’s Magdalena Stysiak in the overall
standings. Despite a disappointing loss in the first match, she will be
motivated to take her team into its seventh semifinal in the competition, the
first one after a break of 4 years.
Mingardi and Gray continue to
impress
Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO is no
stranger to the last stages of the CEV Champions League Volley, having reached
the semifinals in two out of their three participations in the competition.
Both times they managed to reach the podium, including the aforementioned Final
lost to Eczacibasi.
For those that appreciate the
power of statistics, interesting to note that Unet e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO have
won each of their last 12 Champions League matches in which they won the
opening set, while losing each of their last five in which they lost the
opening set. For the fire power in attack,
head coach Marco Musso will once again be looking towards Camilla Mingardi
(124) and Alexa Lea Gray (118) who have won the most points for Unet e-work
BUSTO ARSIZIO this Champions League season.
