MEVZA League – Mladost ZAGREB edge ACH Volley in last main round match

Vienna, Austria, February 24, 2021. HAOK Mladost ZAGREB (CRO) emerged victorious from the very last matchup of the MEVZA League regular season, celebrating a hard-fought 3-2 (25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 15-25, 16-14) home win over defending champions and main round winners ACH Volley LJUBLJANA (SLO).
Therefore, the Croatian team finished their campaign in sixth place on a 3-9 win-loss record. The ‘Orange Dragons’, on the other hand, will compete in the Final Four tournament this coming weekend. Beside ACH Volley, OK Calcit KAMNIK (SLO) and OK Merkur MARIBOR (SLO) as well as hosts Union Raiffeisen WALDVIERTEL (AUT) have qualified for this season’s climax that will take place at the Zwettl sports hall for the second consecutive year.
Mladost’s Kruno Nikacevic topped the chart of the best scorers on 24 points, while Crtomir Bosnjak hammered 20 for the away team. The match stats: attack 43% vs 47%, aces 8 vs 6, winning blocks 15 vs 9, reception 44% vs 46% and opponent errors 31 vs 37.
