Luxembourg, February 17, 2021. The final day of Pool D action in the 4th Round of the CEV Champions League Volley was one of the most bizarre and fascinating in the recent history of the competition, with both pool favourites, Leo Shoes Modena and Verva WARSZAWA Orlen Paliwa unexpectedly losing crucial matches that would have guaranteed a place in the quarterfinals.
It came down to the nearest of margins in the end with the side from Poland narrowly losing out on a much desired place in the next round by just a few points.

Bartosz Kwolek the Top Performer of Pool D – Tournament 2
Despite the unfortunate final events, the performance of the 23-year-old outside hitter from Poland cannot go unnoticed. With a total of 80 points across the 5 matches he has been involved in, Bartosz is currently 4th in the overall standings and 13 points ahead of the next best scorer from Verva, Michal Superlak (67).
Unfortunately, with his team not managing to qualify into the quarterfinals neutral volleyball fans will have to wait until next season to see the Polish star back in action in Europe’s premiere club competition.
Bartosz Kwolek has been very impressive along the years for the Polish youth and senior national teams, receiving numerous individual awards along the way and winning valuable trophies, including an FIVB World Championship Gold Medal with the senior team in 2018.
