A day to remember for Salvatore Rossini – both on and off the court!
CEV Champions League Volley 2021 - Men
Luxembourg, February 10, 2021. Even in pandemic times, Volleyball players are able to excel – and they do so not only on the court, but off the court as well. This is what happened on Tuesday to the libero of TRENTINO Itas, Salvatore Rossini, who not only secured qualification for the quarterfinals of the elite CEV Champions League Volley, but completed his studies with high distinction as well.
Rossini is currently spending his first season at Trento after playing for many years in Modena. The libero who has a wealth of international experience with the Italian national team as well is certainly one of the top players in his position. On Tuesday, he helped TRENTINO secure an emphatic 3-0 victory over Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK of Russia – a result that books a spot for the Italians in the quarterfinals of the competition they won three times in a row between 2009 and 2011.

Even though Nimir Abdel-Aziz top scored with 17 points, Rossini was the man of the match, with an astounding 77% of positive receptions. This performance came only a few hours after Rossini had graduated online in Management Engineering, discussing his essay right from his hotel room.
On a scale where 110 is the top result Italian students can get when they graduate from university, Rossini finished his education with a remarkable 107/110. “I will never forget this day,” Rossini admits. “I graduated from university and shortly afterwards we claimed a victory that secured our qualification for the quarterfinals of the CEV Champions League Volley. I could not ask for anything better than this!”
