Danish Federation runs online platform to keep members active even during lockdown
News from the National Federations
Copenhagen, Denmark, February 2, 2021. In times of coronavirus pandemic and with many restrictions in place that prevent regular activities for the majority of their members, the Danish Volleyball Federation has developed an online platform providing a large number of resources specifically designed for players and volunteers.
“This is a platform that brings together everything around Volleyball. We want to show that despite the lockdown introduced in Denmark, there are still plenty of opportunities to be active with Volleyball,” says Christina Attrup Juhl, Development Manager at Volleyball Danmark.
The platforms includes activities and ideas to stay in shape such as:
• Home activities (targeted at both youth and senior players), such as podcasts, quizzes, streaming of matches from the Danish top league, fitness programmes, etc.
• Activities for the youngest players, featuring a new character, Zebber, who does home activities with the children, such as quizzes, food recipes (that have a ‘Volleyball spice’!) and much more
• “Hold on to the members” and development activities, specifically designed for club leaders, with tips and good ideas to enable people to keep in touch with each other until the pandemic is over as well as ideas for club development even under the current COVID-19 restrictions.
As for the younger age groups, the idea is that kids should do things with their parents or with their coaches and teams at home (together separately), thus creating an opportunity for coaches to interact with their players even when they are not in the gym.
There are new activities added to the platform on a weekly basis. Check out this extensive online resource here: http://volleyball.dk/index.php/medlemsservice/karantaenevolleyball
