Four more schools of Belarusian capital Minsk join CEV School Project
News from the National Federations
Minsk, Belarus, January 13, 2021. As many as four schools from the Belarusian capital city, Minsk, joined earlier this week the activities run by the Belarus Volleyball Federation in conjunction with the CEV’s School Project ‘Play Volleyball – Grow with it’. On a day of freezing weather in Minsk, the young students attending secondary schools no. 1, 7, 38, and 202 had something to cheer about, as they all attended a Volleyball festival, featuring a competition as well, with their respective institutions receiving much-needed equipment – balls and nets – to continue to inspire the kids to play the game.
The extensive programme of activities included a mini Volleyball tournament among girls born in 2011-2012 held at the premises of the school no. 38, with the younger pupils from the first and second grades attending as well, even just as spectators. After the competition, the trainers / physical education teachers of the sports school held a masterclass, thus sharing the key elements and skills of the Volleyball game.
The secondary schools no. 7 and no. 1 held a Volleyball tournament as well, while the coaches of the sports school of the Volleyball club Minsk delivered a training session at the school no. 202 of the Belarusian capital.
With the coaches sharing their knowledge with much passion and the kids responding with just as much enthusiasm, the organisers and the Belarus Volleyball Federation are confident that this action is only the first step towards growing more and more promising Volleyball players in the Eastern European country.
