Israeli Volleyball family working hard ahead of EuroVolley qualifier
News from the National Federations

Luxembourg/Tel Aviv, Israel, January 5, 2021. The excitement is mounting in Israel ahead of the CEV EuroVolley 2021 Men qualifier due to take place next week in Hadera. On Tuesday evening, the members of the local Organising Committee came together via Zoom to review the status of the preparations for the much-awaited tournament where hosts Israel will be taking on the national teams of Bulgaria and Austria.

The winners of the double round robin organised by the Israel Volleyball Association (IVA) will secure their participation in the final stage of EuroVolley 2021 Men co-hosted later this year by Poland, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland.

The organisation of such an event in times of coronavirus pandemic is not an easy thing – but one could sense the enthusiasm of the Israeli Volleyball family, whose members have been working extremely hard to fulfil all conditions and requirements set by the national authorities and make sure that they provide a safe environment for all involved. IVA Secretary General Yaniv Noyman and Dan Shiray, who is in charge of the tournament organisation, briefed the attendees on the latest activities undertaken for the EuroVolley qualifier and on what lies ahead.

What is especially good news is that all matches of the EuroVolley qualifier – and not only those involving Team Israel – will enjoy live TV coverage nationwide. Despite all challenges and constraints brought by the pandemic, this is a truly special opportunity to promote Volleyball in Israel and share it with an audience as large as possible.

CEV Press Officer Federico Ferraro briefly addressed the members of the Organising Committee via Zoom, emphasising the importance of their work. In times of a pandemic, the delivery of an international sporting event is truly demanding, but after completion of the upcoming tournament, the Israeli Volleyball family will join an increasing group of brave organisers who have helped deliver as many as 304 matches since international Volleyball competition resumed in the late summer of 2020.
