Eric Tanguy re-elected FFVolley President
News from the National Federations
Paris, France, December 17, 2020. CEV Board of Administration member Eric Tanguy will continue to lead the French Volleyball family for another four years and more specifically for the next Olympic cycle 2021-2024 after receiving 82.55% of the votes cast by the clubs involved in the electoral process. Under his tenure, French Volleyball has achieved unprecedented success, especially with their men’s national team and co-hosted the historic CEV EuroVolley 2019 Men, with matches held in Montpellier, Nantes and Paris.
“I wish to thank the clubs for renewing their confidence in me. We have an ambitious project, with a strong desire to grow French Volleyball and I appreciate the interest shown by the clubs in our programme,” Tanguy said after the election. “I am also pleased with the participation rate in this election [75.36% of all affiliated clubs cast their vote] under conditions which were not always optimal. This shows the strong will of our clubs to invest in the democratic life of French Volleyball and it is a very positive thing to see. For the next four years, we will be listening to them, and this is my personal commitment. It is the role of a federation to put itself at the service of its clubs and its licensees and our priority will be to emerge as well as possible and as quickly as possible from the crisis affecting French sport and Volleyball.”
This past October, Mr Tanguy joined the CEV Board of Administration for the first time following the elections held in conjunction with the XLI CEV General Assembly held in Vienna, Austria.
