EEVZA President, Russian Volleyball legend Patkin turns 75

Moscow, Russia, December 8, 2020. The EEVZA President and Executive Director of the Russian Volleyball Federation, Mr Vladimir Patkin turns 75 today.
Patkin has been associated with Volleyball throughout his entire life. As a player, he was a long-time member of the Soviet national team, with the highlights of his career coming at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, where he claimed the bronze and silver medals, respectively. Moreover, Patkin was a 1971 European champion with the Soviet national team.
After retiring from competitive sport, Patkin coached the Soviet women’s national team between 1983 and 1987, achieving much success at the helm of multiple Soviet clubs as well such as CSKA Moscow, Dinamo Irkutsk, and Kristall Voronezh. Patkin is an Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR as well as an Honoured Coach of the former USSR too. Earlier this year, the authorities of his hometown, Bobrov, announced the naming of the local sports school after him.
A long-time member of the CEV Board of Administration, up until 2015, Patkin is still working for the Russian Volleyball Federation as well as the President of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA). All members of the EEVZA as well as of the European Volleyball family wish him many more years filled with love, peace, prosperity, good health and Volleyball!
