Calcit Volley take on #VolleySkillChallenge in iconic environment
#1DayMore4Volleyball / News from the clubs
Kamnik, Slovenia, February 25, 2020. Calcit Volley KAMNIK of Slovenia have accepted with much enthusiasm the invitation to join #1DayMore4Volleyball and take the sport closer to as many people as possible via the #VolleySkillChallenge, doing so on a truly iconic stage.
“The reason why we love Volleyball so much is that anyone can play the game, anywhere. It goes beyond any boundaries and we wanted to prove that. Therefore, we decided to leave our comfort zone, the sports hall, and head out to a quarry. Yes, a quarry, an open-pit mine with rocks, heavy machinery and all of that,” says a representative of the club. “We wanted the girls to be the stars of the video. One would expect boys to have football skills, but girls? Yes, they can do it, too! A careful eye will notice that there is a lady behind the wheel in the excavator, as well. This is Sabina; she does this every day for her living. Interesting, right? Our players, setter Eva Pogačar, and the twins, setter Špela Marušič and receiver Polona Marušič, are the ones who took on the challenge, nominating their club colleague Boyan Yordanov, rival Maja Pahor and across-the-border Gaia Moretto to try the #VolleySkillChallenge.”
“Being very proud of our youth, we wanted to get them involved, too. With them, however, we did not take on the challenge, but opted for a photo shoot. We asked them how much Volleyball means to them and one of the answers we got was “I like it so much, that sometimes I even dream about it”. There is the theme of the shoot! Let’s put Volleyball in space and make it look like a dream (come true),” the club continues. The result of the shooting is available on Instagram here.
