Historic double gold for Georgia at EEVZA zonal event in Bakuriani

Bakuriani, Georgia, February 13, 2020. The EEVZA Snow Volleyball zonal event held in Bakuriani ended on Thursday with a set of very exciting matches and a historic double gold for the home teams representing Georgia.
The women’s team from Armenia were hopeful to make amends for their loss in the pool stage of the competition and to rally for a victory, but the Georgian players from the seaside city of Batumi showed much ability to play on snow as well to emerge victorious.
After edging Armenia in Wednesday’s semis, Georgia 2 got the right to play their teammates from Georgia 1 in the gold medal match. Therefore, for the very first time in EEVZA history, Georgia secured two gold medals to cap with a triumph ten days filled with Snow Volleyball action – and loads of snow as well – in Bakuriani. The Georgian stop was the last on the inaugural EEVZA Snow Volleyball Tour, following tournaments previously held in Armenia and Lithuania.
