Pénzügyőr record home win in #CEVChallengeCupM 8th Finals
CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020 - Men
Budapest, Hungary, January 29, 2020. On Wednesday afternoon, Pénzügyőr BUDAPEST played BDO Haasrode Volley LEUVEN in the first round of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup 2020 – Men 8th Finals.
Many had expected a very close match and so it was – at least at some stages. Pénzügyőr started very confidently, but the visitors exploited the home team’s mistakes to earn extra points before the hosts were eventually able to secure a 26-24 win. The second set was a close run too, with BUDAPEST having the upper hand at 25-23. The Belgians stormed to a massive 20-11 lead in the third set and Pénzügyőr could not respond, with the set ending in a 25-18 win for BDO Haasrode. The course of the match changed again in the fourth set, where Pénzügyőr secured a comfortable 25-14 shutout to seal their 3-1 victory.
