Albania join CEV School Project to grow next generation of Volleyball players

Luxembourg, December 17, 2019. Albania joined on Tuesday the growing group of National Federations to have signed an agreement with the European Volleyball Confederation for the promotion of Volleyball at the grassroots level through the CEV’s School Project ‘Play Volleyball, grow with it’.
The President of the Albanian Volleyball Federation, Mr Erlind Pëllumbi, paid a visit to the home of European Volleyball in Luxembourg accompanied by Secretary General Albens Vokopola to attend the official signing ceremony in the presence of CEV President, Aleksandar Boričić.
“We have discussed this ambitious project with a number of local communities and with their respective schools,” Mr Pëllumbi said, “in an effort to make sure that we can involve as many children as possible. We very much look ahead and focus on developing the next generation of Albanian Volleyball players and in order to achieve this ambitious goal, we have joined forces with the Albanian National Olympic Committee as well as with communities who have a long and rich tradition in Volleyball,” he continued. “We hope to use this precious legacy from the past as a leverage to grow the next generation of Volleyball players.”

The CEV President deserved much appreciation for the work delivered by the Albanian Volleyball Federation: “With the guidance and vision of their leadership, Albanian Volleyball has grown tremendously over the last few years and this country made a huge step forward especially when hosting the final round of last year’s U19 Women’s European Championship,” he said. “With the help of the School Project, we are confident that we can now grow the future stars of Albanian Volleyball.”
National Federations to have implemented the CEV School Project with much success this far are Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Ireland, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Slovakia and Slovenia.
