SCHWERIN hope for early Christmas present on Tuesday night
CEV Volleyball Cup 2020 - Women
Schwerin, Germany, December 16, 2019. There are only two games left for SSC Palmberg SCHWERIN before Christmas and a break because of the Olympic qualifier due to take place in early January in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. On Tuesday, SCHWERIN will host their first home match in the CEV Cup this season.
About two weeks ago, the Germans secured a 3-0 victory over SLIEDRECHT Sport, thus laying the ground for progressing to the 8th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2020. Head coach Felix Koslowski used that match to rotate, giving some of his regular players a little break. Although there were changes to the usual starting six, the German team did a good job.
After a tough week, losing a hard fight in Stuttgart in the semis of the German Cup after five sets and another five-set match against SC POTSDAM, SCHWERIN need a boost to increase their self-confidence. SLIEDRECHT played well in some sections of the away game. “It is important to take this opponent seriously,” analyses assistant coach Martin Watne Frydnes. “They had some good moments, scoring fast balls with their outside hitters.”
As this is the last home match at Palmberg Arena in 2019, captain Denise Hanke and her team want to make sure that their supporters will see an exciting game.
