Beach Volleyball world champions inspire young pupils to play Volleyball
News from the National Federations

Moscow, Russia, December 13, 2019. Back in November of 2018, the Volleyball Federation of Russia started a project with the aim of delivering masterclasses to involve as many school pupils as possible in Volleyball. Therefore, schoolchildren from a number of regions across the Russian Federation have already had the opportunity to meet and spend time with famous players, including Olympic medallists.

The 2019 Beach Volleyball World champions Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovsky recently paid a visit to a school near Anapa to deliver a Volleyball masterclass together with the head coach of the Russian national team, Vyacheslav Nirka.

Stoyanovsky, Krasilnikov and Nirka supervised a warm-up session for the children, showed interesting exercises and played a game according to the current Volleyball rules. After that, the Beach Volleyball stars – the first Russians to secure a world title in Beach Volleyball – answered questions from the local students, took pictures and signed autographs.

“Today it was very pleasant and interesting to see the sparkling eyes of so many children. They worked together with us today with much attention and dedication,” Krasilnikov said. “I am sure that there should be as many such meetings as possible. With our example, we can make children fall in love with our beautiful sport,” he concluded.

Following their World Championship gold-medal winning performance in Hamburg, Krasilnikov and Stoyanovskiy won the World Tour Finals in Rome and received the award for the ‘2019 Kings of the Beach’ from the CEV at the European Volleyball Gala held in Sofia, Bulgaria back in October.
