CEV EuroVolley 2019 Women
Athens, Greece, August 15, 2019. There is only one week to go until the first matches of #EuroVolleyW will be taking place in Pool A. After completing their preparation at Karpenisi, the Greek women’s national team returned to Athens to stay there until August 21, when they will travel to Ankara.
“We are definitely ready to go. We have been waiting for this moment the whole summer, so now it is time to step onto the court and fight. In the opening match, we will face host country Turkey and we know it will be incredibly hard. Turkey is a Volleyball country and I expect the stadium to be full of spectators. Everyone on our team wants to compete in arenas full of people and we will do our best whenever doing so,” said opposite hitter Anthi Vasilantonaki.
“Maybe the game with France will decide if we are going to have chances of qualifying to the knockout phase. I think we are equals, it will be a tough game and we will be ready to face them and fight for the victory,” she concluded.
