Czech Republic want to bid farewell to #EuroLeagueM with a victory

Prague, Czech Republic, June 14, 2019. The Czech national team is currently playing the European Golden League and have already tested Ukraine, one of their opponents at CEV EuroVolley 2019 in the Netherlands.
The players of head coach Michal Nekola lost the opening duel in this year’s Golden League with Belarus 1-3, before securing three straight wins at home. They started this streak in Brno, where the Czech Republic changed the course of the match against Ukraine and won 3-2, before securing a 3-1 victory over Finland at the same venue. “We played in a great atmosphere and showed our real strength at home. Everyone from the team who came in, helped a lot,” said Michal Nekola after the matches in Brno.
After that, in Jindřichův Hradec, his team clashed with Belarus and managed to make amends for the loss from the opening match. “It was a fantastic game, and we enjoyed it a lot. I believe that we are still in the game for a spot in the Final Four,” commented Czech team captain Jakub Janouch at the time.
Unfortunately, the dream of a Final Four appearance vanished during the next match in Ukraine which the Czech national team lost 0-3. “We did not manage to put enough pressure on our opponent and Ukraine was very effective in attack. This was crucial for the development of the match. Our players fought but it was not enough, and the opponent was just better than us,” Nekola said after the match.
On Saturday, his team will finish his journey in the Golden League 2019 in Finland. “Although we have no longer the opportunity to advance to the Final Four, we are definitely going for a win in Finland, so we have to prepare well for the match. A victory is still our goal and we need this as we work towards EuroVolley,” emphasised the Czech coach.
