Balkan Kids Festival a major success in Novi Sad

Novi Sad, Serbia, June 1, 2019. The sixth edition of the Balkan Kids Festival took place on Saturday at Vojvodina sports hall in the city of Novi Sad under the slogan “Volleyball Wins”. The Volleyball Federation of Serbia organised the event with the support of the Regional Office for Sports and Youth of Vojvodina province.
Young girls (born in 2006 and younger) and boys (born in 2005 and younger) from six countries participated in the event: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia and Serbia.
Mr Vladimir Batez, former national team player of Yugoslavia and gold medal winner from the 2000 Olympic Games, and now Regional Secretary for Sports and Youth in Vojvodina province, presented a gold medal to each participant of the Festival.
The players of the Women’s Volleyball Club Futog represented Serbia at the event. These are Elma Ibrahimi, Milica Balać, Lena Dugonjić, Anja Radaković, Aleksandra Dinčić, and Sara Vidović, together with their coach Goran Bogdan. They joined their friends of the men’s clubs Volej, Aleksa Savić and Jovan Krnjajić, and Dunav Volej, i.e. Pavle Čokanica, Marko Špehar, Nemanja Petrović, and Lazar Mandić, with their coach Dejan Petrović.
Slobodan Boškan, former national team player of Yugoslavia and gold medal winner from the 2000 Olympic Games, and now Sports Director in the Volleyball Club Vojvodina NS Seme from Novi Sad attended the Festival as well. Mr Milutin Popović, Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mrs Biljana Mihailović, Sports Director in the Volleyball Federation of Serbia with special duties for women’s pre-youth, youth and junior national teams, and Mr Nicolaas Hoeben from the Netherlands, FIVB Technical Delegate at the 2019 VNL matches in Novi Sad, paid a visit as well.
Later in the day, all participants from the Balkan Kids Festival attended the VNL matches in Novi Sad - Japan vs Russia and Serbia vs France.
