Italian ‘Butterflies’ two sets away from reaching fourth #CEVCupW final
2019 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women

Busto Arsizio, Italy, March 3, 2019. Yamamay e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO are only two sets away from reaching the final stage of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women. After seizing the title in 2010 and 2012, and losing the grand finale in 2017 to Dinamo KAZAN, the Italian team play Swietelsky BÉKÉSCSABA of Hungary for the second time in one week. Last Tuesday, the Italians claimed a 3-0 away victory – meaning they ‘only’ need to win two sets to secure their spot in the final against the winners of the Romanian derby between CSM Volei Alba BLAJ and Stiinta BACAU.

The Italian ‘Butterflies’ have just claimed a victory in their last match in the Italian national league against Millennium BRESCIA and can now focus entirely on the CEV Cup semi-finals. They practiced on Sunday afternoon and will take to the court on Monday as well before scouting a video of the previous semi. The organisers expect many fans to flock to Palayamamay to support the home team.

As for Swietelsky, the team coached by Bogdan Paul should once again line up setter Zsuzsanna Talas, opposite Nikoleta Perovic, middle blockers Dorottya Bodnar and Sofija Medic, and two experienced outside hitters in Ksenija Ivanovic and Tatjana Bokan along with libero Rita Molcsanyi.

Alessia Gennari, captain of Yamamay e-work BUSTO ARSIZIO: “Even though everything seemed so easy in the first semi-final, I think that the qualification for the final is still open. The Hungarian team has potential that they did not fully show last Tuesday. They have some dangerous spikers, especially Perovic, and so we have to approach the match with the right attitude and focus on taking the two sets we need to reach the final.”
