Allianz MTV STUTTGART extend contract with their libero for another two years
News from the clubs

Stuttgart, Germany, January 30, 2019. Although Allianz MTV STUTTGART is currently stuck in a tough rhythm with a match every third or fourth day, the team is already working on the future. To this extent, the management is happy that Roosa Koskelo will be staying with the team for an additional two years.

The 27-year-old member of the Finnish national team is wearing her orange jersey with much pride. With her performances, she has impressed the coaching staff and the management from the beginning of the season. She is delivering a great performance in the national competitions where Allianz MTV STUTTGART are yet to suffer any loss in 14 matches – and Roosa has been doing well in the Champions League as well.

Her stats are underlining these facts: with 58.5 perfect reception, she currently sits in third place in Germany, right in the neck of German national team libero Lenka Dürr (59.5%) and Myrthe Schoot (60%, both playing for Rote Raben VILSBIBURG). Roosa received the MVP award in two matches so far, which is a very impressive feat indeed, because usually outside hitters or opposites with the number of points they score are in the spotlight.

“She is a very valuable player in our team. I mean, we signed her last year because we knew about her quality. However, she really surprised us when she started to play with us. In no time she developed to play a leading role in our back row,” says STUTTGART’s Sports Director Kim Renkema. “Establishing continuity and stability is my goal, so I am very pleased about the fact that we could arrange for a two-year contract.”

Roosa is feeling very well at home in Stuttgart, although the current winter weather is by no means meeting Finnish standards, where temperatures around - 30°C are very common. “I am super happy that I am able to stay here in Stuttgart, I really like it here and I feel like home here! Everything in this club is working really well and I am able to focus on giving my best on the court, says Koskelo. “I absolutely LOVE our team! We are really a Team with a big T. I get to work with extremely good players every day in practice, with the best coaches I have ever had, so I feel privileged to be able to stay here. I still have many things where I can improve and I think that Bundesliga and Allianz MTV STUTTGART are the best place for me to take those steps forward.”
