Multiple Russian and Portuguese champions to clash in #CEVChallengeCupM quarterfinals

Belgorod, Russia, January 29, 2019. On Wednesday, January 30, Russia’s eight-time national champions Belogorie BELGOROD will host Sport LISBOA e Benfica in the quarterfinals of the 2019 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men.
This is the first-ever appearance for the team from Lisbon and seven-time Portuguese national champions in Belgorod even though Belogorie BELGOROD already has previous experience of competing with Portuguese teams in the European Cups.
Sport LISBOA e Benfica is one of the oldest Volleyball teams in Europe and at the end of May they will celebrate their 80th anniversary. During these years, they have seized seven titles in their national league, eight Supercup trophies and 17 (!) crowns in their national cup.
Like many other European teams, Sport LISBOA e Benfica boast an international roster – with Portuguese players starring together with three Brazilians – Theo Lopes, Raphael Oliveira and Flavio Soares, an Austrian middle-blocker, Peter Wohlfahrtstätter, and Canadian outside-spiker Frederic Winters.
Definitely, Belogorie BELGOROD will try to continue their way towards seizing the only European trophy missing from their collection while the fans will enjoy another interesting match.
