Belogorie to continue #CEVChallengeCupM journey against Cyprus champions

Belgorod, Russia, December 18, 2018. On Wednesday, December 19, Belogorie BELGOROD will continue their journey in the 2019 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup with the 8th Final home match against Omonia NICOSIA from Cyprus.
This will be the first appearance of the team from Cyprus at the Sports Palace Cosmos. Compared to their opponent from the previous round, Hungary’s Penzügyör BUDAPEST, Omonia NICOSIA are a way more competitive. They are three-time national champions of Cyprus, five-time winners of the national Cup and Supercup. Moreover, the Cypriots have a wealth of experience from the European Cups and they have participated in the CEV Volleyball Champions League as well.
Belogorie BELGOROD setter Sergey Bagrey knows the opponents best of all as he spent the previous season with the team from Nicosia. “This is a very lively team. If you let them play without pressure, you can have problems. If they ‘smell the blood’, it can be hard to stop them. At least it was like that last year when I played together with these guys. Of course, they are a more serious opponent than the Hungarian team, but we do not need to be afraid of them. We just need to play our game, confident and powerful.”
