TOURS VB back for good in #CLVolleyM!
2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men
Tours, France, November 6, 2018. After a break of two years, TOURS VB return to contest the CEV Volleyball Champions League. The winners of the 2005 edition and silver medallists in 2007, TOURS VB added to their showcase the trophy of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup where they beat Italy’s TRENTINO Volley in the finals.
As for their comeback in the CEV Volleyball Champions League, the defending French champions will play in Pool E against some top European teams, i.e. Arkas IZMIR of Turkey, last year’s bronze medal winners Sir Colussi Sicoma PERUGIA of Italy and Dinamo MOSCOW of Russia.
The fans in Tours can look forward to three exciting home matches as Pascal Foussard, the General Manager of the French team notes: “It is certainly a very difficult pool, but we play the Champions League in order to have great matches. With PERUGIA, Arkas IZMIR and Dinamo MOSCOW, the quality of the competition speaks for itself. We do not have any ‘easier’ team to play, at least on paper, but we have the chance to finish pool play with two home games.”
Those teams travelling to Tours will have the opportunity to play in a fully renovated Salle Robert Grenon, which has undergone major changes and upgrades in order to meet the highest European standards. TOURS VB will start their journey in the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League with an away match at Arkas IZMIR on November 21.
