Santorini, Greece, March 3, 2018. The women of Olympiacos SFP PIRAEUS claimed their eighth Greek Cup on Saturday in Santerini. The reigning Greek national champions were able to win the final against Pannaxiakos in straight sets.
Olympiacos made history Saturday night in Santorini by claiming their eighth straight title in the Greek national cup. The final match was held in DAPPOS Sports Hall where Olympiacos beat Pannaxiakos 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-19) and were crowned the 2018 Greek Cup winners.
• In the semifinals Olympiacos won the match with hosts AO Thiras 3-1 (25-21, 28-26, 22-25, 25-21) and Pannaxiakos beat Ilisiakos 3-0 (25-16, 25-19, 25-20).
• Most Valuable Player of the Final Four was Olympiacos opposite hitter Saskia Hippe. She scored 11 points to help her team win the title in the final.
Olympiacos captain Styliani Christodoulou: “Every year we have the same motivation to win the Cup. Olympiacos always reach out for high goals. I am happy that we did it. For me it is my seventh title and I hope that I will get even more in the future as it is never enough.”
Olympiacos are due to contest the semi-finals of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup later this month where they will be taking on Dinamo KRASNODAR of Russia.
