Belogorie only two sets away from CEV Cup quarterfinals

Belgorod, Russia, January 30, 2018. On Tuesday, Belogorie BELGOROD will play their second match in the 8th Finals of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men against Hapoel MATE-ASHER AKKO. Two weeks ago in Israel, the Russian giants did not leave a chance to the squad coached by Noam Katz – and the match finished in straight sets.
Now the Russian ‘Lions’ need just to win two sets to qualify for the next round of the competition. This match will be the first ever appearance of the Israeli team on the court of the Sports Palace Cosmos. However, it looks like the re-match will be a demanding challenge for the visitors as well. Belogorie have to make amends in front of their home crowd as last Saturday Alexandr Bogomolov and his players suffered the first home defeat in the national championship this season from Gazprom-Ugra SURGUT, the Russian representative in the 2018 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup.
Anyway, Hapoel MATE-ASHER AKKO will play without any pressure in Belgorod, and they will just enjoy this experience and the opportunity to compete with one of the European Volleyball powerhouses. Who knows, maybe this strategy will bring some fruits to the Israelis.
