Serbian “Sharks” look forward to fourth straight Champions League campaign

Belgrade, Serbia, December 11, 2017. Serbian reigning national champions Vizura RUMA are looking forward to starting their fourth consecutive campaign in the CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women.
On Saturday, the Volleyball club Vizura organised a cocktail with sponsors, friends, media at New Design Hotel in Belgrade in order to celebrate the start of their journey in the CEV Champions League, but also to present the team that will fight in Europe’s elite club competition.
As for the group stage of the competition, the “Sharks” will play in Pool C and they are going to face Poland’s Chemik POLICE, Dinamo KAZAN of Russia, and Bulgarian sensation Maritza PLOVDIV. Vizura will start their journey on Tuesday with a home match against Chemik.
“We are participating in the CEV Champions League for the fourth straight season and this time we start straight from the group stage. Serbia are the reigning European champions in women’s Volleyball and everyone has some expectations; we will surely show all the talent we have and deliver a spectacular Volleyball show at our new home in Ruma. One more time I would like to thank the Municipality of Ruma for supporting us. I am very excited about the first match with POLICE and I cannot wait for it to start,” Club President Radojicic said.
“I can say that we are ready, this competition and this match are the one we live for. My players have not lost even one set this season in Ruma, we have a wonderful atmosphere there and for sure we will leave our heart on the court,” head coach Dejan Desnica said.
“This is a wonderful evening. I must thank our Club Managers Martina and Ana for such a nice organisation, which we are all enjoying. It is always special to play in the Champions League, and such great atmosphere in our team will lead us through this competition this season. I hope that the sports hall in Ruma will be full on Tuesday,” concluded team captain Sladjana Eric.
