Chemik move to Koszalin for their home matches, but goals remain the same
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Police, Poland, December 1, 2017. Poland’s national champions Chemik POLICE are looking forward to starting their campaign in the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women and this time they will be playing all of their home matches in Koszalin – and not anymore in Szczecin as they used to.

“I am the chairman of this club and I need to think about profits. It would not make sense to accept an offer, which is ultimately affecting our club. The best offer has come from Koszalin. They have a beautiful sports centre and they are ready to host our Champions League matches this season. We are glad to start something new,” said club President Paweł Frankowski.
The local sports hall in Koszalin can host some 3,000 fans. Chemik will organise free transport for all supporters from Police and Szczecin. “That is a great idea. The Champions League is the most challenging of all competitions, so the supporters play a very important role. In previous years we had some amazing help from the stands,” recalled team captain Izabela Bełcik.
This year Chemik is going to face Dinamo KAZAN, Maritza PLOVDIV and Vizura RUMA in the group stage of the competition. That was a lucky draw compared to the previous ones.
“We did not have an easy draw for the last few seasons but this year we cannot complain. Everything is in our hands. However, we should not forget that Maritza have eliminated Yenisei KRASNOYARSK in the previous round. We have spoken with our Serbian players about the team from Ruma. They warned us and told us we should not underestimate this opponent. They have many young Serbian players, with much potential and determination to win. We need to be careful, but also confident about our abilities,” said Chemik POLICE head coach Jakub Głuszak.
Chemik will start their journey in the second week of December with an away matchup against Vizura RUMA.
