CEV Cup ‘grand finale’ coming up in Tours
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Tours, France, April 14, 2017. Saturday, April 15 will be some kind of a D-Day for TOURS VB as the French team host the ‘grand finale’ of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men after losing 0-3 on Wednesday night to TRENTINO Diatec at Palatrento. It is also the last match for TOURS VB this season as the team is already out of contention for further glory in the French national league – but what a match they get to play at Robert Grenon sports hall when hosting the three-time winners of the CEV Volleyball Champions League and four-time club world champions!
TRENTINO comfortably claimed the first leg of the finals rallying to a 3-0 home victory. TOURS VB were never quite able to put up a fight and pose a threat to the Italian star-studded team. In order to stay in contention for the title, TOURS VB will have to claim a 3-0 or 3-1 home win and after that, they would take on the all-deciding Golden Set. “TRENTINO have an advantage following the first match but the second one will be a completely different story. We will fight all the way,” said the Brazilian outside hitter of TOURS VB, Levi Alves Cabral (pictured).
The atmosphere will be just electrifying and the players of TOURS VB are motivated to achieve an exploit – if they do so, they will claim the second European trophy for their club after TOURS VB won the 2005 edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League.
