Italian ‘Butterflies’ believe in their chances of a comeback
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women
Busto Arsizio, Italy, April 13, 2017. Unet Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO will be playing Dinamo KAZAN on Saturday night in the ‘grand finale’ of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women. The Italian ‘Butterflies’ will be trying to make amends for their 1-3 loss in Russia and claim their third title in the competition – they already stood on top of the podium in 2010 and 2012. In order to achieve this feat, UYBA need to win 3-0 or 3-1 and after that to emerge victorious also from the eventual all-deciding Golden Set. As for Dinamo KAZAN, the Russians need to take ‘only’ two sets to seize their second European trophy – in 2014 they won the CEV Volleyball Champions League at the Finals held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Though they lost 1-3 on Tuesday night, the Italian team travelled back home knowing that they stand a chance of achieving a comeback. The home fans will play a key role in achieving this goal: 2,500 tickets were sold already and the organisers expect a full house on Saturday at Palayamamay when UYBA take to the court against the Russian ‘armada’.
A press conference will take place on Friday between the teams’ respective training sessions and further information is available in the official booklet of the CEV Cup ‘grand finale’, which fans and media can download from here.
