Italian derby highlights second round of men’s Playoffs 6

Civitanova Marche, Italy, April 11, 2017. The Eurosuole Forum will be probably sold-out this coming Thursday as the home heroes of Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA host their rivals and compatriots of Azimut MODENA for the second round of the Playoffs 6 in the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men.
This is the fifth time that CIVITANOVA and MODENA are facing themselves in the last two weeks, as the same teams are currently locking horns in the semi-final series of the Italian national league as well (with Cucine Lube leading the way by 2-1).
Last week, CIVITANOVA routed MODENA in straight sets in the first round of action and therefore they look confidently forward to this return game.
“We must forget the result of the first round and play this match with maximum concentration, trying to perform our best,” says Serbian born middle-blocker Dragan Stankovic. “We are facing MODENA almost every three days if you consider Champions League and Italian SuperLeague matches, this means that we know each other very well from the technical side, and that the mental side will play a key role in determining the outcome of the match.”
