Galatasaray with a mountain to climb in rematch with Fakel NOVY URENGOY
2017 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cuè - Men
Istanbul, Turkey, April 1, 2017. Galatasaray HDI ISTANBUL will be hosting Russia’s Fakel NOVY URENGOY on Sunday for the second leg of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men semis. The match will be taking place at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall, starting at 19:00 local time.
Galatasaray HDI ISTANBUL will be trying to use the home-court advantage in an effort to come back from the heavy 0-3 loss they suffered last Wednesday at the hands of Fakel NOVY URENGOY. In order to remain in contention for a spot in the ‘grand finale’ of the competition, the Turks will have to score a 3-0 or 3-1 win before going for an eventual Golden Set. The winners of this double header will play France’s CHAUMONT VB 52 or Turkey’s Ziraat Bankasi ANKARA in the finals. Fakel NOVY URENGOY are the silver medallists from the 2016 edition when they lost in the finals to Italy’s Calzedonia VERONA. As for Galatasaray, the Turks are making their first appearance in a European semi-final in 17 years.
