UYBA poised to secure third appearance in CEV Cup Finals
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women
Busto Arsizio, Italy, March 31, 2017. Unet Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO – aka UYBA – will be hosting on Saturday night Pomì CASALMAGGIORE in the remake of the all-Italian semi-final in the 2017 CEV Volleyball – Women. Unet Yamamay are determined to capitalise on the 3-0 victory they recorded on Tuesday in Cremona and need to win at least two sets to secure their third appearance in the final stage of the CEV Cup – a competition they already won in 2010 and 2012.
Unet Yamamay definitely made a first step towards reaching this goal by rallying to a comprehensive 3-0 victory only a few days ago in Cremona. Team captain Giulia Pisani and all members of the roster have a busy schedule – including video scouting and training sessions – as they prepare for the matchup coming up on Saturday night at 20:30 local time. The eventual winners of the Italian derby will play Dinamo KAZAN of Russia or Turkey’s Galatasaray ISTANBUL in the final. As far as Pomì CASALMAGGIORE are concerned, their star opposite hitter Samanta Fabris could come back from surgery in time for the re-match with BUSTO ARSIZIO.
Unet Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO head coach Marco Mencarelli commented: “The first leg went just fine for us but we can only celebrate after the second match. We are obviously confident ahead of this match but we also know that Pomì CASALMAGGIORE have a strong team and can count on many experienced players. As a result, I expect a very tough match.”
