Zenit KAZAN eager to extend their winning streak
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men
Kazan, Russia, March 21, 2017. After claiming a comprehensive 3-0 victory in Belgium last week, Zenit KAZAN have virtually predetermined the fate of their fixture with Knack ROESELARE on schedule for the Playoffs 12 of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. However, the Russian armada do not want to celebrate too early as Knack ROESELARE are a rather tough nut to crack that could storm back easily if Zenit KAZAN take the re-match too relaxed.
“Knack ROESELARE is a team that plays very well and might cause some troubles to us. No matter what was the final score of the first match, we should be all ready for the next clash in the away game,” said Zenit KAZAN opposite Denis Zemchenok.
Between the two matches against Knack ROESELARE, the team from Tatarstan defeated Ural UFA by 3-0, thus extending their winning streak in the Russian Superleague to 24 consecutive matches, and to 31 games by counting all competitions they have been taking part in.
Last weekend Knack ROESELARE recorded an important victory over Noliko MAASEIK (3-2) in their national league, thanks to 23 points contributed by their Polish-born opposite Piotr Orczyk, who substituted the injured home star Hendrik Tuerlinckx.
