Dresden, Germany, February 23, 2017. As team captain Katharina Schwabe said on the eve of the match with Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG, DRESDNER SC have had some rough weeks. However, the reigning German champions kept their spirits up to bounce back on Wednesday night. Head coach Alexander Waibl changed the playing system of his team and it worked out pretty well. Apart from some silly mistakes in the third set, the Germans delivered a stellar performance, which resulted in their first victory in the group stage of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women.
However, it was not just the result, which reminded everyone why the club is a part of Europe’s elite competition. The club hosted the first Volleyball #instawalk ever and it became a big success. “We have received a lot of positive feedback from the instagramers and it’s nice to see how much content they have created and shared,” says DRESDNER SC CEO Sandra Zimmermann. DRESDNER SC player Eva Hodanova who met up with the 13 instagramers after their tour through Margon Arena to hit some balls and talk about the event, reports: “They told me everything about the instawalk and showed me the first pictures. They seemed really happy and had big smiles on their face because they were able to get really close to the action and experience so many new things they had never seen before.”
The participants flooded Instagram with dozens of photos and video clips varying between macro photography, wide-angle shots, slow motion scenes, making-of pictures and much, much more. They will continue to do so during the next few days as many participants did not only bring their smartphone but also professional photo equipment to create high quality content. There is some exciting stuff coming up as the instagramers got deep insights behind the scenes. Stay tuned and check out #instawalkDD from time to time, so you do not miss a thing!
